Digital Marketing Trends 2023

2023 is just around the corner, so it's time to take a look at what to focus on next year. These are predictions and assumptions based on research and my years of experience, but as we all know, things can change in a blink of an eye.

Artificial Inteligcen (AI)

Artificial intelligence is gaining in popularity amongst marketers. Moving into 2023, AI will play a significant role in marketing.

AI can ease the content creation process by helping to identify topics worth talking about, drafting blog posts, or showing which content has the best chance of becoming viral. Platforms like Jasper.ai or copy.ai are the most famous tools for drafting blog posts and copy.

AI can do more than just draft your copy. It can also enhance the customer experience. Having an elevated customer experience will separate you from the competition. People are more likely to spend their hard-earned money if they are having a great time.

The Nordstrom Rack store in New York uses artificial intelligence to enhance the customer shopping spree. The lipstick finder lets customers try on the color before purchasing it, or the fragrance finder helps you choose the perfect scent.

Warby Parkers use AI to let you try on a pair of glasses through their mobile app before purchasing it.

Tactics like these will enhance your customer experience and go a long way in a very competitive market.

Building a Community & Storytelling

I said it before but building a community is more important than ever. The days of just posting an offer and selling out are over. Especially in these uncertain times, you want a loyal community supporting your brand.

Consumers are more likely to purchase from a brand they feel connected to. If you are wondering how to build a community online, check out my blog post that describes how to build a community.

Brands also need to focus on storytelling or, rather, storyselling. Storyselling describes the process of the customer journey as a story with a beginning, middle, and end. Case studies showing how your product or service helped others are a must.

Video Content

Just like this year, video content is gaining more and more popularity. Video content will still be strong in 2023, and brands have the potential to grow quickly online with the correct video strategy, which includes consistency and value. Take Instagram as an example. It used to be an image-only platform, but lately, videos are taking over the platform. If you're still not incorporating videos into your content strategy, you are missing out on huge opportunities.

As of right now, short-form video content on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram can help you organically grow your account. With TikTok and YouTube Shorts, your videos have the chance to reach thousands of viewers without having tons of followers. Take advantage before it goes away.

According to Hubspot, the number of people who watch videos online has doubled since 2018. This number will continue to grow, especially with social media networks pushing video content.

Privacy Policy

Just type into Google privacy policy 2023, and you will see countless articles of laws that are being implemented in states aiming to protect consumers.

Things are heading towards a future where consumers have more control over their data.

If consumers buy something online, they want to feel safe that their data is not being sold to a third party and that companies take measurements to avoid cyber attacks.

Tools such as block, chain technology and artificial intelligence can help protect consumer data.

If businesses pay attention to data security and implement tools to protect consumer data, it will push them above the competition because these companies can boost trustworthiness and increase customer retention.

Rewarding Creators

More and more social networks reward creators with monetary compensation or opportunities simply by creating content. Instagram rewards creators for creating Reels so does TikTok. YouTube pays for views, and Pinterest rolled out a creator program.

Going into 2023, rewarding creators on social networks will most likely gain more popularity and open up to more creators on the website.
